What we checked, and what this page is not

On October 5, 2026 we loaded TidyCal’s pricing page, its Terms of Service and its AppSumo listing in a real browser session with an en-US locale and saved a screenshot plus a text dump of each. No account was created, no trial was started and nothing was purchased — this is a terms-level pricing check, not a hands-on test. We have not booked a meeting through TidyCal, so nothing below claims first-hand experience of the product itself; every number is quoted from what the vendor’s own pages printed that day.

One boundary to state up front: the AppSumo listing blocked our browser session behind its bot challenge, so we could not screenshot it. The AppSumo quotes below come from the same page retrieved through our text-extraction pipeline on the same day, and we mark them as such wherever they appear.

TidyCal matters to us because it keeps turning up as the budget answer to Cal.com and Calendly. Our related pages — Cal.com pricing, the Cal.com alternatives list and Cal.com vs Calendly — already cover the two market leaders.

1. The four plans, in one table

Free Individual Lifetime Agency Lifetime Pro
Price $0 forever $29 one-time $79 one-time $12/mo or $99/yr
Anchor shown — $144 struck through $240 struck through $12 struck through, “Yearly -31%”
Where you buy tidycal.com AppSumo AppSumo tidycal.com
Calendar connections 1 10 10 Unlimited
Platform fee on Stripe payments 1% 1% 1% None
TidyCal branding Normal Reduced Reduced None
SMS reminders (US & Canada) ✕ ✕ 10 per month Unlimited
Round robin / collective / team page ✕ ✕ ✓ ✓
Paid bookings, packages, subscriptions, discount codes, storefront ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓

Prices are US dollars captured on a single day — they localize, and the AppSumo channel is the one part of this ladder we could not photograph.

2. Free is a real plan, and it is where the fee hides

The free card reads $0 / Forever free and lists unlimited bookings, unlimited booking types, paid bookings, recurring and package bookings, its own booking page and translation. The FAQ spells out the two things the card leaves out:

Yes. The Free plan is $0 forever and includes unlimited bookings, unlimited booking types, paid bookings through Stripe and PayPal, recurring and package bookings, date polls, your own booking page and one-click translation. It connects 1 calendar. Payments taken on this plan carry a 1% platform fee, on top of Stripe’s own processing fees.

So the honest summary of free is: no seat limit, no booking cap, one calendar, and a 1% cut of anything you actually collect. For a user who never takes money through the booking page, that fee never fires — which is why “free” is accurate here rather than a trial in disguise. The comparison matrix confirms the rest of the free column is unusually deep for $0: discount codes, subscriptions, package bookings, ratings and reviews, guest invites and directory access are all ticked on every tier, free included.

3. The two Lifetime plans are AppSumo purchases, not a TidyCal checkout

This is the part most write-ups flatten into “a $29 lifetime deal”. The pricing page’s own FAQ says:

There are three paid options. Individual Lifetime is a one-time $29 payment. Agency Lifetime is a one-time $79 payment. Pro is a subscription at $12 per month, or $99 per year ($8.25 per month billed annually). Lifetime plans are sold on AppSumo; Pro is sold on tidycal.com.

The Lifetime cards’ buttons say “Buy on” with the AppSumo mark, never “Buy now” — only the Pro card gets a direct checkout. TidyCal’s Terms of Service says the same thing from the legal side: signing up may redirect you to appsumo.com, “which is part of Sumo Group, to complete your signup… typically, but not limited to, buying the paid version of our Product”. And AppSumo’s own listing describes the product as “An AppSumo Original, created by the AppSumo team” — this is not a limited-time campaign run through a third-party deal site; TidyCal is AppSumo’s own product, sold on AppSumo.

What the AppSumo listing adds (text retrieved 2026-10-05, not screenshot):

  • Individual Plan $29 / Agency Plan $79, both “Lifetime access”, with the Individual tier marked Recommended.
  • “Refundable up to 60 days”, and “Feel secure in your purchase with AppSumo’s 60-day money-back guarantee.”
  • “You must activate your license within 60 days of purchase.”
  • “No codes, no stacking — just choose the plan that’s right for you.” There is no stacking trick to lower the price further.
  • “Only for TidyCal users who do not have an existing paid account.” If you are already paying for Pro, the lifetime deal is not open to you.
  • The listing shows 4.34 stars from 928 reviews, and puts the company in Austin, Texas, founded April 2017.

The struck-through anchors on TidyCal’s own cards ($144 for the $29 tier, $240 for the $79 tier) are printed without a label explaining what they reference, so we quote them as decoration rather than as a verified “you save $115” claim.

4. Pro is the only plan without the 1% fee — and the only one billed on time

Pro is a straight subscription: $12 per month, or $99 per year — the card renders that as “$8.25 per month · billed annually at $99” with a “Yearly -31%” badge. Both states are evidenced above, because a pricing page that carries a billing toggle is exactly where a copy-pasted number goes stale.

For the extra $12 a month you get no TidyCal branding, a custom domain, priority support, unlimited calendar connections and unlimited SMS reminders — plus the thing that is easy to miss when you compare it with the one-off lifetime deals: “Pro has no platform fee.” On a $29 one-time purchase you keep a 1% cut going out on every paid booking, forever. Whether $29 once plus 1% beats $12 a month with no cut depends entirely on how much you bill through the booking page — which is the calculation the banner does not do for you.

Cancelling is described plainly in the FAQ: “Cancelling stops future charges; your account stays on the Free plan or any Lifetime plan you own.”

5. What the plan cards leave out

Three specifics only appear in the comparison matrix, and they change the buying decision:

  • SMS reminders on Agency Lifetime are capped at 10 per month. The Agency card just says “SMS reminders (US & Canada)”; the matrix row reads × / × / 10 per month / Unlimited. Individual Lifetime gets none at all.
  • “Max Calendar Connections: 1 / 10 / 10 / Unlimited” — and the row’s own definition is more restrictive than the numbers suggest: “Number of readable calendars you can connect, with one writable calendar.” Free connects one readable calendar and that is the end of it.
  • Custom domain and priority support are Pro-only. Neither lifetime tier has them, so a one-time purchase does not get you off TidyCal’s own URL.

6. Refunds: 7 days on Pro, 60 days on the AppSumo lifetime

The two purchase paths have two different refund clocks, and they are in different documents:

  • Pro (tidycal.com subscription) — from the Terms of Service, section 21.a, captured 2026-10-05 and last updated August 24, 2026: “TidyCal subscriptions are billed in advance. You may request a full refund within 7 days of your subscription purchase by contacting support. After 7 days, subscription payments are non-refundable.”
  • Individual / Agency Lifetime (AppSumo) — the AppSumo listing states a 60-day money-back guarantee, which is a far longer window than the vendor’s own subscription policy.

Two more terms are worth knowing before you buy either: downgrades take effect immediately and TidyCal states it “is not responsible for any loss of data, settings, or functionality resulting from a voluntary downgrade”, and money collected through the booking page is not covered by TidyCal at all — for paid bookings, “refund policies are determined by the meeting host”.

7. Two discrepancies we hit while verifying

We report these because they are exactly the kind of thing a single-source article would launder into a fact:

  1. AppSumo’s own listing still prints “$39” for a lifetime plan in its FAQ-style body text, while its plan selector and TidyCal’s site both say $29. The price card wins; the sentence is stale copy.
  2. The Individual tier’s integration level disagrees between the two vendors’ pages. AppSumo’s plan table lists Individual integrations as “Basic (Google, Office 365, iCal)”, while TidyCal’s own feature matrix puts Individual on Advanced — the same as Agency and Pro — and its FAQ says “Paid plans add Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Zapier, plus automatic meeting links”. TidyCal’s Individual card even advertises “Auto-create Zoom/Meet/Teams links” as an Individual feature, which only works if that tier has the advanced integrations. We would treat the vendor’s product page as authoritative here, but if you are buying the $29 tier specifically for a Zoom workflow, confirm it in the AppSumo listing before checkout.

Also worth a footnote for anyone who lands on a dead link: tidycal.com/terms returns 404 — the real Terms of Service lives at tidycal.com/tos, which is what the site footer links to.

8. Who each plan is for

This is a reading of the published terms, not a test of the product:

  • Free — you schedule meetings and never invoice through the booking page. One calendar, unlimited bookings, $0, no time limit. The 1% fee is irrelevant to you.
  • Individual Lifetime — a solo host who wants automatic Zoom/Meet/Teams links, group bookings and AI features, prefers one payment to a subscription, and bills little enough that 1% stays cheap.
  • Agency Lifetime — the same, plus round robin, collective meetings and a team page. Note the 10-per-month SMS cap and that it is still a 1% platform fee.
  • Pro — you take payments regularly (the 1% is gone), want a custom domain and no TidyCal branding, or you are an existing paid user who cannot buy the AppSumo deal anyway.
